About Westchase
Westchase covers more than 2,000 acres in northwest Hillsborough County, between the Veterans Expressway and Race Track Road. Development began in 1991 and ran about 15 years, producing roughly 3,500 homes across 29 to 33 village subdivisions. Each village has its own deed restrictions on top of the Westchase Community Association, which runs the community pools, courts, trails and common areas. A Community Development District also operates in Westchase, so special district assessments show up on many tax bills. Housing ranges widely, from townhomes and condos to golf-front single-family homes in The Greens, a gated village along the course, and larger houses in The Estates. West Park Village adds a walkable, mixed-use layout with homes near shops. Westchase Town Center sits inside the community, so coffee, dinner and errands are often a short drive or bike ride away. Village dues differ, and some gated villages carry higher assessments, so buyers should compare total monthly costs across villages before choosing a street.
The golf at Westchase
Westchase Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 daily-fee course designed by Lloyd Clifton and opened in 1992. It plays about 6,700 yards from the back tees and threads through wetlands, with wooden bridges and bulkheaded edges that put a premium on accuracy over length. The National Golf Foundation has recognized it for conditions, service and value, and Golf Digest has rated it well. The course has four sets of tees, a GPS system and a 9,500-square-foot clubhouse that hosts events and banquets. Because it is public, Westchase homeowners book tee times the same way visitors do, and there is no membership tied to the deed. The course sits at 11602 Westchase Golf Drive on the community's northwest side. In 2018 the Westchase CDD weighed a letter of intent to buy the course from its then owner; the course has continued to operate and posts tee times through 2026.
Is club membership required in Westchase?
No club membership. Westchase Golf Club is a daily-fee course open to the public, and owning a home in Westchase carries no golf membership requirement. Community pools and courts run through the Westchase Community Association.
