About Carrollwood Village

Carrollwood Village grew up around a golf and tennis club in north Tampa, and most of its homes date from the 1970s and 1980s. The neighborhood is organized into phases, each with its own homeowners association, and HOA dues in many sections are modest by Tampa Bay standards. Streets are lined with mature oaks, and lots typically run from about a seventh of an acre to over four tenths of an acre. Housing is mainly single-family, with townhomes and condos mixed into some sections, and many homes back to fairways or ponds. Because the houses are older, a lot of buyers here plan on updates, and renovated homes sit next to originals. The club began as Carrollwood Village Golf and Tennis Club and at its peak was the largest country club community in Tampa Bay, with close to 1,000 golf members. It was renamed Carrollwood Country Club after Concert Golf Partners bought it in 2013. Carrollwood Village Park and the Carrollwood Cultural Center give the area a strong neighborhood hub outside the club.

The golf at Carrollwood Village

Carrollwood Country Club has 27 holes split into three nines named Cypress, Meadow and Pine, which pair into three different 18-hole rounds. Dan Maples rebuilt all 27 holes in the early 2000s, when the club operated as Emerald Greens, and every green was resurfaced with Champion UltraDwarf Bermuda at that time. The practice facility has multiple tee lines, a short-game area and putting greens. Concert Golf Partners bought the club in 2013, and members get benefits at other Concert Golf clubs. The club is private and membership is by invitation. Full golf membership covers all 27 holes plus pool, fitness, tennis and social events, and a social and tennis tier includes a limited number of golf rounds each year. Tennis players have eight lighted Har-Tru courts, and the aquatics center has a year-round pool and a poolside grille. The clubhouse sits on Clubhouse Drive in ZIP 33618.
