About Tampa Palms
Tampa Palms was one of the first large master-planned communities in New Tampa. Development began in the mid 1980s on about 4,100 acres along the Hillsborough River, and the community earned national recognition as a top master-planned community in 1987. Today it includes 28 villages that range from townhomes and condos to custom single-family homes and gated estate sections. The Tampa Palms Owners Association governs the original villages, the Tampa Palms North Owners Association covers the north side, and many villages add their own sub-associations. A separate Tampa Palms Community Development District handles infrastructure, so CDD assessments are part of the cost picture. The layout is built around tree-lined boulevards, miles of walking paths, parks and conservation land, with shops, offices and schools mixed in. Golf-front homes sit along the Tampa Palms Country Club course. Dues and rules vary by village, and some villages are gated while others are open, so buyers should compare a few before settling on one.
The golf at Tampa Palms
Tampa Palms Country Club is built around an 18-hole Arthur Hills course that opened in 1987. The layout runs through an Audubon-certified sanctuary of native wetlands, so marsh edges and preserve views frame many holes. The club is part of the Invited network and is private, so golfers play as members or guests. Members also get access to other Invited clubs and alliance clubs through the network's reciprocal benefits. Beyond golf, the club has 11 Har-Tru tennis courts with year-round play and instruction, a fitness center with indoor training studios, a large pool, and the Elements restaurant overlooking the course, which serves dinner and Sunday brunch. Event spaces handle weddings, tournaments and corporate meetings. Club membership is not tied to any home, so buyers can choose a Tampa Palms address and decide on the club separately. The clubhouse is at 5811 Tampa Palms Boulevard.
Is club membership required in Tampa Palms?
Optional. Tampa Palms Country Club is a private Invited club, and membership is separate from owning a home in Tampa Palms. Members get reciprocal access to other Invited clubs.
