About Saddlebrook

Saddlebrook sits on several hundred acres of rolling, wooded land just east of Interstate 75 off State Road 54 in Wesley Chapel. It is first and foremost a resort, known for decades for its golf and tennis programs, and the residential side grew up inside the same guarded gates. Buyers can choose from condo units in the resort core, cluster homes and townhomes in walkable villages such as Fairway Village, and a smaller group of single-family homes on larger lots along Saddlebrook Way and Pine Tree Lane. Some condo units are condo-hotel units, where the owner gets a set number of personal-use days and the resort rents the unit the rest of the year. Other units can be bought for full-time personal use. In late 2025 the resort completed the first major phase of a $92 million renovation that touched the hotel, the courses, the practice facilities and the sports programs, and plans call for a future town center with shops and residences. Anyone shopping here should read the condo documents closely, since rental program rules, HOA coverage and use restrictions vary from building to building.

The golf at Saddlebrook

The golf at Saddlebrook started with two 18-hole layouts, the Saddlebrook course and the Palmer course, credited to Dean Refram and Arnold Palmer. Rees Jones reworked the former 36 holes into three interchangeable nine-hole loops named Oak, Pine and Cypress, so golfers can mix and match 18-hole rounds across 27 holes. Construction began in 2024, and the Pine and Oak nines were the first to reopen in late 2025, with Cypress following as the third phase. The work added USGA-spec greens, rebuilt tees, reshaped bunkers and new irrigation. The renovation also added a 13-acre driving range, TifEagle putting greens and dedicated short-game areas, which makes the practice setup one of the larger ones north of Tampa. The courses operate as resort golf, so hotel guests and outside players share the tee sheet with members. The membership program introduced in 2025 is open to residents and to people who live elsewhere in the area.

Is club membership required in Saddlebrook?

Optional. Owning a home or condo at Saddlebrook does not include golf. The resort launched its first membership program in late 2025, open to people beyond the resort community, covering golf, tennis, pickleball and fitness.

Living in Saddlebrook: location and lifestyle

Location is the big draw. Saddlebrook is a few minutes from the Shops at Wiregrass, Tampa Premium Outlets, AdventHealth Wesley Chapel and the Wiregrass Ranch sports complex, and Interstate 75 puts Tampa and the University of South Florida area within easy reach outside rush hour. Inside the gate, residents have access to resort restaurants, a spa, a fitness center and the pool complex, with some services tied to optional resort memberships. Tennis and pickleball are a major part of daily life here, as the resort has long hosted training programs. Wesley Chapel has grown fast, so expect busy traffic on State Road 54 and State Road 56 at peak hours. For outdoor time beyond the gates, the Withlacoochee State Forest and the Hillsborough River are both a reasonable drive.
