Crystal River's springs and manatee tours are a short drive west. Tampa is roughly 80 minutes away, so this is a better fit for buyers who do not need a daily commute south. On-site dining and the activity center calendar mean many residents spend their free time inside the community, while Inverness, about 15 minutes away, has a walkable downtown with local restaurants around its historic courthouse. Hospital and medical services are available in Inverness, and the Suncoast Parkway extension continues to improve trips south toward Tampa.
