Plantation Palms is an established neighborhood on Collier Parkway in central Land O' Lakes, with homes set along fairways, ponds and preserve areas. The community is mostly single-family homes with a smaller number of townhomes, and the HOA covers common grounds, community roads, recreation facilities and a 24-hour guard. Shared amenities include a clubhouse, pool, fitness center, tennis and pickleball courts. The golf course has had an up-and-down history: it closed in 2013, sat idle for a few years, and reopened in late 2016 after new owners bought it and brought it back with a renovated clubhouse, a lighted driving range, an 18-hole miniature golf course and Mulligans Irish Pub. Homeowners led a campaign to save the course during the closure, which says something about how much the course matters to the neighborhood. Today the course takes public tee times, and the pub and mini golf draw people from outside the community too. Buyers should look at each phase separately, since lot sizes and home styles differ across the neighborhood.

The golf at Plantation Palms

Plantation Palms Golf Club is an 18-hole layout with a links feel, opening with a par 5 and featuring rolling terrain, elevated greens, pine trees, ponds and sculpted bunkers. Golf Digest gave the course a four-star rating in earlier years, and residents point to the elevation changes as unusual for central Pasco. The course closed in August 2013 under a previous owner and reopened to members on November 30, 2016, and to the public a few days later after Ace Golf bought it in a short sale. That reopening also brought a lighted driving range, a practice area and a pro shop. Today the club runs as a public course with GolfNow tee times, and memberships are available for regular players. Designer credits differ between golf directories, so this page does not name one.

Plantation Palms puts residents close to the Collier Parkway and State Road 54 corridor, with grocery stores, restaurants and medical offices a short drive away. The Suncoast Parkway is close for trips south to Tampa and the airport, and Wesley Chapel shopping at the Shops at Wiregrass is reachable via State Road 54. Land O' Lakes is known for its many lakes, so boating, fishing and paddling are part of the local routine, and Lake Padgett and Lake Thomas are nearby. Conner Preserve and the Starkey Wilderness Park trails are within a reasonable drive for hiking and biking. Public schools are part of the Pasco County district; check assignments by address. Grocery stores and pharmacies cluster along Collier Parkway and State Road 54, so most errands take only a few minutes. The pub and miniature golf course at the club give residents a place to meet neighbors without leaving the community, and the driving range is lit for evening practice.
