About Dunedin Isles
Dunedin Isles is a residential area on the north side of Dunedin, wrapped around the city's historic golf course and stretching toward St. Joseph Sound. The golf club sits at 1050 Palm Boulevard, and many homes along Palm Boulevard, Greenway Avenue, Demaret Drive, and nearby streets border its fairways. Public records split the area into several subdivisions, including Dunedin Isles, Dunedin Isles Country Club, and Dunedin Isles Estates, so search more than one name when tracking listings. Housing is almost all detached, ranging from 1920s and 1950s homes to mid-century ranches and newer rebuilds on older lots. Many streets are on public roads with no master HOA, though some sections have deed restrictions. The course is the heart of it: owned by the City of Dunedin since 1939, it served as the national headquarters of the PGA of America from 1945 to 1962 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. A $6 million restoration finished in early 2025 and won Golf Inc.'s renovation of the year honors for public facilities. Downtown Dunedin's walkable main street is a few minutes south.
The golf at Dunedin Isles
Dunedin Golf Club opened on January 1, 1927, and Donald Ross reportedly called it his masterpiece. From 1945 through 1962 it was home to the PGA of America, and it hosted 18 senior championships that helped launch what became the senior tour. The City of Dunedin has owned the course since 1939 and runs it as a public facility. In 2024 architect Kris Spence led a full restoration that rebuilt greens and bunkers to Ross's original intent, and the course reopened in early 2025. Golf Inc. named it the year's top renovation among public facilities, and the city reports higher play since. The course plays 18 holes, par 72, at about 6,750 yards. Anyone can book a tee time, city residents get 25 percent off greens fees, and optional memberships are available. The Highland House restaurant on site is open to the public.
Is club membership required in Dunedin Isles?
Optional. Dunedin Golf Club is owned and operated by the City of Dunedin and is open to the public, with optional memberships and a 25 percent greens fee discount for city residents.
